Rush soccer offers a variety of developmentally appropriate programs for children 11 and under of all interest and ability levels. For the club’s youngest players, soccer education is the focal point of an approach that prioritizes long-term player development over competition-based outcomes. The club’s goal is to ignite a lifelong love and passion of the game.
Players will train 2x a week and play in 4-5 events during the season.
Rush developmental soccer provides a distinct learning and playing environment compared to a traditional results focused league structure. Our academy-style programs are designed to compliment, supplement, or take the place of a traditional recreational soccer season. The academy model provides children with a high quality, “footballing” education, featuring:
Rush United Developmental soccer offers players a chance to learn from our professional coaching staff. All coaches are licensed by USSF or USC and are experienced in working with youth soccer players. Registration is open for all committed players as there are no tryouts for players wishing to join one of our developmental groups. SWVA Rush works to develop the whole player as they learn to master their skills.
The program provides a positive, enjoyable and challenging environment for each individual to grow as a soccer player. With a focus on individual technique and tactical education, coaches train our youth players through a progressive curriculum. Coaching sessions maximize touches on the ball and provide frequent decision-making situations to develop a tactical understanding of the game.
We utilize a 3v3 and 4v4 small-sided games format for 7U-8U and 7v7 for 9U-11U age groups. The focus is on the fundamental and training aspects of the game. Here we can allow players to master a skill set without fear of failure. Coaches focus on the learning process and quality of performance to develop technically versatile and intelligent players. Players will experience all aspects of soccer, from technical skills, to various tactical systems of play, and rotation through all playing roles and positions.
Our philosophy will provide young players with the very best preparation,
as we help each player prepare for their youth soccer journey into competition-based pathways.
